Friends of the Library
On Thursday, February 28th the Friend’s of the Library kicked off their 60th anniversary celebration with a presentation by Earl Ijames, curator at the North Carolina Museum of History. “I’m hopeful this is going to kick off a very active year for the Friends…” said Roman Leary, Library Director.
Several other celebrations are in the works: 1) A book presentation by Monica Fleming on March 28th. 2) The summer children’s reading program. 3) Library card sign up month in September. 4) 5th Annual Friend’s Evening of Mystery and Imagination in October.
Founded in 1953, the Friends of the Edgecombe County Memorial Library is an all volunteer organization that supports programs and purchases special items for the library.
