Kickoff Party @ ECC

Registration begins at 11am with special guest, storyteller Ron Jones at 12.

June 24

For Teens and Tweens @ Tarboro –Join the fun and paint a butterfly kite. June 24 @ 3 pm.  Limited to 15 participants only.

 

June 26

"Chemistry on the Road: States of Matter"

Dr. Bill Switzer of North Carolina State University will share the joys of science through chemistry.

Programs will be at 11 am in Tarboro and 3 pm in Pinetops.

July 2

Catch the Reading bug @ the Movies

"Bee Movie"  The first 50 children to sign up and pay $2 for their drink and popcorn will get to go to the movies free @ this Parkhill Cinema showing in Tarboro. All other children must prepay $5. This includes food & drink. Parent cost for event is $4, plus cost of foods, to be paid at the movie theatre. Those coming to the movie will need to meet at Parkhill Cinema at 9:30 am on July 2nd. The movie is 90 minutes long and should be out around 11:30 am.

Tarboro Teens & Tweens – Teens & Tweens will assemble their kites this session  @3 pm in the Pender Room.

 

July 7

Pinetops Teens & Tweens – Teens who completed Calligraphy Basics may take the advanced level, Monday @10 am.  Don’t forget to bring your work samples and calligraphy pens!  If Teens & Tweens are interested in participating at the Basics level, please show up the 10 am class to determine the date and time to be scheduled.

 

July 10

For both libraries -- Pet Show @Tarboro --  Time to show off your pets.  Will be held in the parking lot @ 10 am.  Pinetops participants are encouraged to participate at this site for safety reasons.  See if you can top the winner of most creative name of last year:  Burnt Hotdog, rooster.

Pinetops Butterflies -- Connie Sherrill, County Extension Office – Help your mother grow a butterfly garden.  Learn about butterflies and some common flowers that they need!  Wednesday @11:00 am, at Pinetops Branch Library.

Tarboro Teens & Tweens – Make great jewelry out of hardware supplies.  Wednesday @3 pm in the Pender Room, Tarboro.

Our Summer Reading Program Final Party will be held at ECC at 11am. Awards and prizes will be followed by a performance by Charles Pettee, a renowned Bluegrass performer.
